Chimney Cleaning in Dayton, Ohio
When Do You Need To Have Your Chimney Cleaned?
Your chimney should be swept whenever there is a measurable amount of creosote or soot buildup. For most homeowners who use their wood-burning fireplaces often during the fall and winter seasons, the chimney will need to be cleaned once a year. But if you do not use yours often, you may be able to go longer between cleanings.
The Chimney Cleaning Process:
We follow a very specific process to ensure our clients’ chimneys get thoroughly cleaned, without a mess, and that any issues or concerns are identified for the homeowner.
We start by covering our shoes with booties to prevent tracking anything into your home.
Next, we lay a fresh sheet of plastic on the carpet or flooring in front of the fireplace. This protects your flooring throughout the cleaning process, but it is also where we will lay out our tools.
We clean the damper and make sure it’s working correctly and free of rust and damage.
We use a rotary chimney cleaning system and brushes and rods to remove any soot, creosote, or obstructions from the flue. We use a powerful, high-speed, HEPA filtered vacuum to ensure that all dust and soot is safely contained.
We then use a Chim Scan inspection camera on masonry systems to evaluate the smoke chamber and flue liner to ensure that all interior areas are in good condition.
Once we are done, we will provide you with a written report on your chimney’s condition and any concerns we may have found during the cleaning and inspection process.
